Rusia got ORIBAGS idea while still a first year student at Makerere University in 2007 when the government of Uganda announced a ban on the manufacture, importation and use of plastic bags locally known as “kaveera”. Rusia has over 10 years experience in business management, Leadership and Organizational management. She worked for the African Medical research Foundation(AMREF) as a youth coordinator, Director at the Uganda Women Entrepreneurs Association Ltd (UWEAL) and is the founder and initiator of Youth Works!Uganda-a programme supporting youth creativity and Innovation in Uganda.

Rusia is responsible for the overall steering of the company and the day to day administration and providing corporate leadership to the business. She is a recognized and rewarded entrepreneur, with the Uganda young achievers award (business and Trade), Uganda women achievers award and the TIAW World of Difference Award from the International Alliance for Women awarded in Washington DC. She is a 2012 fellow of the US President’s Young African Leaders Initiative(YALI), a programmed of  former US president Barrack Obama’s administration to engage young African leaders. As a leader, she brings in her   experience of setting up new initiatives, the ability to envision, and her unshakeable commitment to translate ideas into reality.

Davis is an engineer passionate about the environment and resilient resource conservation. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Engineering from Makerere university and a M.Sc. in Sustainable Energy Engineering from the Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, Sweden and a post graduate diploma in Sustainability and Responsible business leadership from the Swedish Institute(SI) Stockholm Sweden. Davis is also a certified energy auditor from the international association of Energy engineers(AEE). He brings in the technical experience of eco-technologies, cleaner production, business strategy, sustainability, business development, industrial design, marketing and international development
